대림절 (Advent)
대림절(Advent) 기독교에서 크리스마스 전 4주간 예수의 성탄과 다시 오심을 기다리는 교회력 절기이다. 대림시기, 대강절, 강림절로도 불린다. 어원은 오다(Adventus)라는 뜻의 라틴어에서 유래하였다. 교회력은 대림절로 시작하기 때문에, 한 해의 시작을 알리는 뜻도 있다. 대림절에 사용하는 예전색은 기다림을 뜻하는 보라색이며, 대림 제1주일은 11월 27일 ~ 12월 3일 사이의 주일(일요일)이다.
