니카라과 공화국, 약칭 니카라과는 중앙아메리카에 있는 나라이다. 중앙아메리카에서는 가장 넓다. 북동쪽은 온두라스, 남쪽은 코스타리카, 동쪽은 카리브 해에 접하고, 남서쪽은 태평양에 접하고 있다. 주식으로는 ‘팥’을 주로 먹는다. 수도는 마나과이다. 생태학적으로 다양성이 큰 국가 중에서 하나에 속한다.
